Attention Deficit
Recognition and treatment of disorders of attention, concentration and executive function has improved significantly in the past few years. In general we have come to recognize that many people may suffer from problems of inattention that can be remedied with the use of medications. As with any other psychiatric problem careful diagnosis is essential so that we can identify and remedy the correct problem. ADHD is too readily self diagnosed and can be mistaken for other more serious emotional problems that can also impair attention and concentration. For this reason testing is often indicated and a careful psychiatric evaluation is essential.
